Fantastic place to stay in the heart of Canmore! Private room and bathroom, with shared downstairs kitchen and living area— though we never really saw any other guests. Hosts had so many helpful amenities available like guidebook with hiking and eating recommendations, bear spray, bikes to rent, board games, on and on. Beautiful lodge decor and UNBEATABLE location. We will return!

My wife and I were disappointed and would not choose to stay here again. To start with the positive, Canmore is a great location and this property sits at the heart of town, close to everything. It offers free parking and the modern, clean bathroom is just as pictured. If you are just looking for a place to lay your head, this might work well for you. However, the small, dark bedroom is not at all as pictured. It is advertised as a romantic suite with great views; we chose this for our 20th anniversary trip on that basis.There were no views. One window has a broken mini blind that is stuck down while the other has a plexiglass insert with an exhaust pipe (think dryer hose) running through it to provide air conditioning. The view out that window is of a rooftop with bee brood boxes.The unsightly, noisy, portable AC took up a lot of floor space and was a trip hazard. The TV is old, slow and low volume. We could only get it to work on two of the three nights but the air conditioner drowned out the sound. There was no on-site help. Our only contact thru VRBO had never visited the site. She asked if we could arrange to stay at the property to meet a maintenance man. We chose not to spend our last vacation day doing that. The misleading description for the high cost was the main issue. This place could have potential with some owner attention, management, and accountability.

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. Chris and Tanya are amazing hosts, the room was clean and thoughtfully set up, supplied with little things like a wine opener, tissues, and organic soap and shampoo that show how much thought and effort they put into hosting. The Airbnb is in an incredible walkable location, easily accessible to great restaurants, coffee shops, and scenic walks. We hope to be back soon!

We had a wonderful stay at the paintbox lodge. Chris and Tanya are lovely hosts and can't do enough to help you. Highly recommend, very close to Banff and lots to do / places to eat nearby.

Friendly host, great location and very clean. However, we did experience a hiccup when checking in, we had delayed message on our air bnb messages about our room check in and the host (who was at the accommodation the time) showed us in (very were very polite and nice!) but in a mix up we got given the wrong room. We then started to unpack and 3 hours later told to move, we actually solved this all ourselves with the other occupants at the accommodation. However, mistakes happen and genuinely think it wouldn’t happened again and we would come back when back in Canmore.

This is a small, cozy room with optimal space utilization and everything you need for comfort. The bathroom is enormous and amazing, great shower and bath tub for relaxing after the slopes. The lodge only has a few rooms and was very cute and quiet. The location in Canmore couldn't be better - walkable to mostly anything you could want. Great communication, easy entrance into the lodge and check in. Overall, I would stay here again without a doubt. Thanks for the lovely stay!

Excellent location. Very quiet at night. Off street parking. Easy to walk everywhere. Comfy room, nice light snd views. Bathtub was the real attraction for us and lovely after a cold day skiing. I will recommend this site to friends

The paintbox lodge is a beautiful place to stay. Each room has its own bathroom but shares a beautiful kitchen and living space. it is located right off the main strip in Canmore and is walking distance to all of the great places to eat. There are also rooms available that have more than one bed for larger groups! Would stay again!

Chris and Tanya have an incredibly special place at the Painthouse Lodge. The lodge was in the perfect location, just a block away from the main downtown area in Canmore. The room was private and the common areas were spacious and clean. I highly recommend this to anyone coming to Canmore!

We hebben een heel fijn verblijf gehad in Canmore. De communicatie verliep soepel en we ontvingen onder andere tips over waar we kunnen eten waar we gebruik van hebben gemaakt. We raden het verblijf iedereen aan. Heel erg bedankt Chris en Tanya!

Great stay, wish we had more time to spend here!

Great place for quick trip. We stayed here for like 8 hours. It was a good place to sleep for the night before going to Banff. The bedroom is smaller than pictured, but the bathroom is large. There was loud street sounds at night, but we used the AC as white noise, and that worked. The host was super communicative and had helpful local restaurant recommendations. Overall would recommend.

The place was very clean and accessible via one ton diesel. The hosts were very proactive and helpful. This is right close to the heart of downtown perfect for all your amenity needs!

We had a great stay at Chris and Tanya’place. The studio is well decorated and very well located walking distance to nice retsuarants and coffees. Chris and Tanya are excellent host, very responsive. We will come back again !

Very dissatisfied as the sheets and the room had not been cleaned from the previous guest. Crumbs and dirt in the bed, as well as the head imprints in the pillow cases from the previous guest. Floor had not been vacuumed, left us feeling like we couldn’t touch anything. Their post says there is a kitchen, however upon booking you get a message saying you can’t cook in there but only drink coffee and use the microwave. So don’t plan on saving a few bucks and cooking your own meals. Otherwise, the place is very cute! Great location in Canmore. Had it been clean we would have had a positive experience.

Really a lovely little place. Very upscale for the $$. Our suite was very small but tastefully appointed with a large bathroom. Great location!

Overall great place to stay located conveniently in the heart of Canmore. Lots of restaurants around. The common areas were clean and other guests were respectful. Unfortunately, my stay was in the middle of the heat wave and my studio didn’t provide the ventillation throughout the night. The host was quick to resolve the following day and provide support. Chris and Tanya are great hosts. I would still greatly recommend to guest planning to stay as long as the HVAC in the studio will be resolved.

Coziest lodge I’ve ever stayed at. Rather small but felt great for two people. Super exhausted from the day before and the bed was amazing. They don’t allow cooking at the kitchen but can use the microwave no problem. Took us by surprise that check in was delayed an hour. No issues just something to keep in mind. Overall great experience and highly recommend.

One of my favourite places I’ve stayed! The mountain views are absolutely spectacular. The room was clean, cozy, and so many nice little touches. Chris and Tanya were excellent communicators and easy to get in touch with. Perfect location, a 2 min walk from the heart of town. Absolute recommend!

perfect place to stay for a weekend getaway. close to everything you need in canmore. Nice and quiet place, they were also very clear about how to get in to our room and kept in touch to make sure we didnt need anything else. The deep soaker tub was also a big win in our eyes. would highly recommend and cant wait to come back and stay here again

What a beautiful place to stay for a weekend. It felt like a true mountain cabin but right in the middle of town. We were there when it was -40 degrees and all the great restaurants and shops were still in walking distance. I would recommend this location to anyone thinking of spending time in Canmore.

Air conditioning was not working in the unit. The property is listed with air conditioning. I requested for another room with air conditioner. Host didn’t response. I had a terrible experience

It is a lovely place, everything super nice and cozy, bathroom and room super warm and cute, 100% recommended to stay in this place.

This lodge is a beautiful place, conveniently located close to Canmore’s city center, close to public transportation and easy to get to if you’re taking the Rider Express to Canmore. Chris and Tanya were extremely accommodating and the place is super cozy and warm. Be sure to check out the house rules as since it’s not permitted to cook in the kitchen, your costs might increase due to having to eat out. If that’s not an issue for you this could very well be among the best to stay in Canmore!

Great experience overall

We faced a lot of problem at the time of check in. There was no clear instructions and there was someone else in our room.. the host did not response at the first place. There was no body at the reception and no one was picking the call. We waited for so long .. will never book it again.

Chris and Tanya’s place was a great base from which to explore Canmore and the surrounding areas. The apartment was very centrally located, cosy, and inviting. We also really enjoyed the bed, which was super comfortable! The guidebook Chris and Tanya sent to us was also incredibly helpful. Thank you so much for having us!
